Bacon Wrapped Mandrin Orange
Bacon Wrapped Mandrin Orange Slices
(Makes approx. 8 Servings)
½ lb bacon strips, cut into thirds
Mandarin Orange Slices*
* If using canned mandarin orange slices, discard any mush slices -- you will need about 100 firm slices (2 - 3 slices for each piece of bacon).
Directions:
Wrap bacon around 2 to 3 mandarin orange slices and secure with a toothpick. Place in a shallow baking pan. Broil 6 inches from the heat until bacon is crisp, turning once. Serve hot.
Other "Tidbit" suggestions for a festive serving platter of appetizers: pitted dates, whole water chestnuts, pineapple chunks, banana chunks, large mushrooms, small oysters, chicken livers (cut in half; marinated in soy sauce overnight) pitted green olives, large shrimp (shelled and de-veined).
Oyster, chicken livers and shrimp must be cooked through and, again, served hot.
